Quick Biography

Sheila McCarthy-Loatman has broad ranging experience as a therapist working with children, adolescents and adults.  She provided trauma-focused therapeutic services to children and adolescents in Northern Rivers’ Sexual Abuse Treatment Program and then served as primary clinician in their OnTrackNY Program.  At OnTrackNY she provided therapy to young adolescents and adults who had experienced their first episode of psychosis.  Through her therapeutic work she has developed skills in a variety of clinical modalities, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies.   Sheila works from a strengths based perspective and a person centered therapeutic approach.  She enjoys spending time with her family, painting, reading and running.
