ECS Psychological Services, P.C. offers counseling specifically related to infertility, including emotional support, useful coping skills, and guidance with exploring questions pertaining to the fertility treatment process. Many individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment report feeling alone in the process. At ECS, therapy is open to both male and female individuals, as well as to couples. These services focus on the complex emotions that exist while making decisions on future courses of treatment, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), and oocyte/sperm donation. Additionally, when needed, an individual or couple can learn stress management techniques, which are useful while undergoing treatment procedures. Throughout the process of fertility treatment, individuals often experience a wide range of emotions due to the unpredictability of the outcome, the use of fertility medications, and the changes in their hormonal status. This may often contribute to feelings of anxiety throughout the course of treatment and can be successfully addressed through counseling interventions.
